Nora Grey's life is still far from perfect. Surviving an attempt on her life wasn't pleasant, but atleast she got a guardian angel out of it: a mysterious, magnetic, gorgeous guardian angel. But, despite his role in her life, Patch has been acting anything but angelic. He's more elusive than ever and even worse, he's started spending time with Nora's arch-enemy, Marcie Millar.

Nora would have hardly noticed Scott Parnell, an old family friend who has moved back to town, if Patch hadnt been acting so distant. Even with Scott's totally infuriating attitude Nora finds herself drawn to him - despite her lingering feeling that he's hiding something.

Haunted by images of her murdered father, and questioning whether her nephilim bloodline has anything to do with his death, Nora puts herself increasingly in dangerous situations as she desperatly searches for answers. But maybe some things are better left buried, because the truth could destroy everything - and everyone - she trusts.

Finally I finished this book! Oh My God! Why it take me so long? But it doesn't matter. I loved Hush Hush and now I love Crescendo. Period.

At the first time, when I started reading Crescendo I felt a Déjà vu, and what I mean is that I saw almost the same thing that I saw in Torment by Lauren Kate. Problems in Paradise. There are lies, distrust, and that is when their relationship looks like something that is not so good. And I was literally mad, because I didn't like Torment, so that is maybe the principal reason why I just stopped reading and continue reading other books with the lame excuse that I had too many books to review and that I didn't have enough time to finish Crescendo… Yes, I'm a terrible liar.

But I'm glad I didn't give up and I continue reading, because in less than a day I finished reading more than 200 pages. Oh man… It was awesome. Fitzpatrick comes again with the second book in almost the same way she came with Hush Hush, and what I mean is that  Crescendo have all you can ask for.

First: Mystery, intrigue and action. The thing I like the most about the series is that although everything has to do with the angels, archangels and the fallen is that it doesn't look like that. I mean, you always think that you're in a mystery book, that the main character is going to be killed by a psychopath instead of a immortal and mystical creature… well, sometimes that mystical creature is kind of psychopath, but well…. Or when the main character does something like getting inside someone's house to get some object that it doesn't belong to her… or when she get trapped in some place and she cannot scape… that was like a Hollywood movie, guys.

Second: Patch… That doesn't need any explanation, don't you think?

Third: The characters: Nora… I can't hate her. I like her. Sometimes I hate the main character of some YA books, because I don't see them like a main character should be, but with Nora is different. And Vee.... she is awesome, and is so funny! I'm laughing all the time with her, and finally…. Do I need to talk about him again? Yes, please… Patch… He is too Patch.

Like I said before, Hush Hush was incredible, and Crescendo was amazing. I know that there are a few people who didn't enjoy the story, but for me is perfect. The only thing I hated about Crescendo is the ending. Oh, c'mon. That is not an ending!  Now I need to wait to the third book!

Love it!

Becca Fitzpatrick grew up reading Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden with a flashlight under the covers. She graduated college with a degree in health, which she promptly abandoned for storytelling. When not writing, she's most likely prowling sale racks for reject shoes, running, or watching crime dramas on TV. She is the author of the bestselling HUSH, HUSH Saga. HUSH, HUSH and CRESCENDO are in stores everywhere now!

  2. I haven't read this one yet, which I kind of hate to admit since I LOVED (and I mean, LOVED) Hush, Hush. However, now that I've read your review, I'm dying to read it. It sounds like another great addition in the series. Awesome review! :)
